Energy Minister Bolat Akchulakov spoke about work in the renewable energy sector during the extended meeting of the ministry's collegium, Qazaq Green reports.
"We keep working to attract investors to the renewable energy sector. In 2022 we plan to commission 10 RES projects with a total capacity of 290 MW worth $225 million," he said.
According to the results of 2021, the volume of electricity generated by RES facilities amounted to 4.2 billion kWh. The preliminary RES generation plan for 2022 is 4.5 billion kWh.
He noted that Kazakhstan is working on measures to transfer digital mining entities to electricity consumption using renewable energy sources and imports.
