Kazakhstan and EP to share best practices in RES development

On April 12 the authorities of the Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan met with a delegation of the European Parliament. The parties discussed prospects of cooperation in the field of energy, Qazaq Green reports citing the press office of the Ministry of Energy.


The Kazakh delegation was headed by vice minister of Energy Aset Magauov, while European delegation was headed by Vice-Chair of the European Parliament's Delegation for Central Asia and Mongolia Andris Ameriks.

The meeting was also attended by Ambassador of the European Union to the Republic of Kazakhstan. Kęstutis Jankauskas and Head of the Asia Department of the European Parliament Secretariat Niccolo Rinaldi.

The European Union is one of the key partners of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the field of energy. Kazakhstan is committed to long-term cooperation with strategic investors of the European Union and appreciates mutually beneficial co-operation in the energy sector over the three decades of Kazakhstan's independence. 

"During the meeting, the parties discussed developments in international energy markets, the improvement of the investment climate, as well as energy infrastructure and sustainable energy. The parties will take appropriate measures to share best practices in the development of renewable energy sources, hydrogen, and advanced energy technologies," the ministry said. 

The officials, after assessing the current state of bilateral and multilateral cooperation, exchanged views on further prospects for developing and diversifying energy cooperation.
