Chairman of the Board of Directors of Qazaq Green RES Association Nurlan Kapenov takes part in the international investment conference Energy Week. Central Asia and Mongolia in Tashkent.
"Kazakhstan has established a solid legal and regulatory framework for the development of the sector; for four years now, auctions for the selection of RES projects have been held, which demonstrate a constant reduction in tariffs and attract foreign investment," said Nurlan Kapenov.
The Kazakhstan RES Association Qazaq Green was founded in 2018 to support the development of the sector. It brings together investors, developers and equipment manufacturers, as well as international financial institutions, research and design institutes.
According to Nurlan Kapenov, in four years the Association achieved the following results: 134 RES facilities operate in the country, which generate about 4% of electricity.
The association held an international business festival of RES Solar Fest Qazaqstan-2019, issues an industry information and analytical magazine Qazaq Solar.
To remind, the conference is being held in the capital of Uzbekistan from April 26 -28 and aims to bring together representatives of government agencies, energy companies and RES projects from Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Mongolia, as well as representatives of international financial and development organizations, international energy companies.
The purpose of the event is to discuss clean energy transition and energy security issues, implemented reforms, support programs and policy changes in some countries, and to review examples of how individual countries are attracting investors and advanced technologies for hydropower, solar, wind, hydrogen and energy conservation projects.
