Development of renewable energy sources (RES) in Kazakhstan began in 2009 with the adoption of the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On Support for the Use of Renewable Energy Sources."
Our country has set ambitious goals for the development of renewable energy. According to these goals, the share of renewable energy in the total electricity production should reach 3% by 2020, 6% by 2025, and 15% by 2030. By 2050, renewable and alternative energy sources should account for at least half of the total energy consumption.
These targets are reflected in government programs and development strategies and have been declared by the country's leadership to investors and the global community during EXPO-2017 "Future Energy."
